UsportsHub 2012 NBA Mock Draft

  

The UsportsHub team consists of former college basketball players, coaches, and independent talent evaluators that are able to make NBA draft prospect observations based upon first-hand basketball experience. Below is the Mock Draft we have compiled for the 2012 NBA Draft which is scheduled to be held on June 28, 2012 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

1 New Orleans Hornets Anthony Davis PF Obvious pick, rebuilding starts here, will Anthony Davis be more Tim Duncan or Tyson Chandler?
2 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF The buzz around Chicago was this pick will be traded, restless fan base, Jordan can't miss again, Stacked at 4, need help can't take the risk.
3 Thomas Robinson PF Washington was shopping Blatche at NBA trade deadline last year,  T-Rob is the safest and best player available
4 Bradley Beal SG Need help at 2, Anthony parker just retired. There are reports that Cavs really like Harrison Barnes.
5 Harrison Barnes SF If Harrison Barnes falls to the Kings consider this the perfect fit. They will be celebrating in Sac Town.
6 Andre Drummond PF/C Blazers need a C or a  PG, Przybilla coming off of injuries, Felton had a down year in Portland. Andre Drummond likely or Lilliard may get some consideration.
7 Terrence Ross SG/SF Bogut at center, Need a young promising sf to fit in between klay and Steph. Ross has a green room invite.
8 Damian Lillard PG Bringing in last year's lottery pick Jonas Valančiūnas from Lithuania, lots of playoff teams were interested in Calderon at last year's trade deadline,Will Jared Bayless return? Kendall Marshall if Lillard is not available.
9 John Henson PF/C They need size and have been working out several bigs, Joe D. is high on Henson
10 New Orleans Hornets Tyler Zeller C They need a long-term solution at PG, and they are high on Austin Rivers and think he can play the 1 or 2.  They have been looking at centers since trading Okafor.  Zeller could be the man here
11 Austin Rivers SG They also need help at guard, Portland likely goes big early and looks for a pg here, Rivers or Lillard.
12 Meyers Leonard C They need help in the post, Zeller or Leonard here. They could be drafting for Orlando who needs everything.
13 Dion Waiters SG Need help at two, likely best available, Waiters more versatile. It is rumored that Waiters has a promise in early part of the lottery.
14 Jeremy Lamb SG Need help at center, will likely take one if Zeller or Leonard if they  fall, however will go with best available here.
15 Arnett Moultrie SF/PF We think it’s a big here, Henson, Moultrie or, Sullinger.
16 Terrence Jones SF Are they sold on Chandler Parsons? Or do they need a little more versatility in the from of a Terrance Jones.
17 Moe Harkless SG Need help at the wings, likely a 2 or 3, this pick could be traded.
18 Perry Jones SF/PF Very interesting pick here, is PJIII part of the puzzle or a trade asset?
19 Kendall Marshall PG Likely losing Howard, Ryan Anderson will command top dollar as a free agent, Ish Smith was getting burn as a back up down the stretch.  Could Kendall Marhsall occupy the starting PG position if Jameer leaves?
20 Marquis Teague PG The Nuggets are high on Royce White and he could be a surprise pick, they could use help at guard, Rudy F is considering making a return to Spain, M. Teague may get some consideration here.
21 Royce White PF Celtics have an aging core, and still committing lots of dollars to high priced vets, the rebuilding starts here. White shut down his workouts after Boston and may have a promise from the Celtics.
22 Doron Lamb  SG Celtics need help everywhere, aging at all positions, could it be one of the Kentucky kids here? They need outside shooting with Jesus shuttleworth aka Ray Allen headed to Miami
23 Fab Melo C Need help at 2g, also need a center, Fab Melo will get some consideration as NBA teams are high on him post Chicago Pre-draft Combine.
24 Jared Sullinger PF

Sulley finds a home, and the fan base loves it.

25 Jeff Taylor SF  They are set at most positions, could take a guy that will be a rotation player. Or they could trade this pick.
26 John Jenkins SG
Nice shooter who could help their second unit.
27 Festus Ezeli C Need a big, Festus could be a nice rotational player and help them address there glaring hole in the post.
28 Draymond Green PF They need a back up for Kevin Durant, Draymond Green could give them good production off the bench, They may consider a pg if they feel Eric Maynor is not recovered.
29 Quincy Miller SF If they can find a decent PG that is a possiblity with Rose gone for the year, Quincy Miller could be ok down the road.
30 Evan Fournier SG/SF  Poiters  Best intl player available.
31 Kevin Jones PF They can't afford to wait on a player, Kevin Jones can help this team right away.
32 Will Barton SG/SF  They need help at the wings, Mason and Evans are free agents.
33 Andrew Nicholson PF/C Cleveland has two picks here, could trade one for a veteran or draft a big man that can contribute.
34 Tony Wroten Jr. PG/SG  They take a promising prospect that may help them replace D. Gibson.
35 Tyshawn Taylor PG They have 3 picks, could use a pg who can spell Steph curry.
36 Tomas Satoransky PG/SG  Sevilla  Stash him in Europe for a few years and let him develop.
37 Orlando Johnson SG Need an additional wing player,  first round talent at second round value.
38 Darius Miller SF They could use a wing and the Kentucky teammates are reunited
39 Kevin Murphy SG Really an unknown to most people, but this kid can flat out score.
40 Kyle O'Quinn PF/C Portland will look to move one of these picks, or possibly a foreign prospect, O'Quinn played well at Portsmouth.
41 Kostas Papanikolaou SF Greece The left handed international mystery man, who will stay over in Europe and develop.
42 Kris Joseph SF They could use another wing, Kris Joeseph could make a solid contribution.
43 Drew Gordon PF Hawks could use a pf to back up J. Smith, Drew Gordon could be the man.
44 William Buford SG Detroit needs guys that can help right away, senior sg that could give them a few minutes.
45 Kim English SG Specialist to replace Jodie Meeks.
46 New Orleans Hornets Scott Machado PG They missed out on a pg earlier Machado could be the guy here.
47 Khris Middleton SG/SF They need a sf, or may to look to add a big man.
48 Maalik Wayns PG They need help at pg, Lin might be too expensive  and end up elsewhere as a free agent, Bibby and Davis are old, scott machado if available.
49 Jared Cunningham SG Possibly another wing player, he might not have the ideal size but he is an elite athlete in the mold of a Fred Jones.
50 Furkan Aldemir PF Turkey They have a lot of players under contract, they will need to make some trades or let someone develop overseas
51 Darius Johnson-Odom SG Hard-nosed player.
52 Leon Radosevic PF/C Croatia Prob wont bring 4 rookies into camp, if they keep the pick its likely a flyer on a foreign kid.
53 Mike Scott PF If no guards are available, look for them to go big.
54 Casper Ware PG Need a back up pg, possibly casper ware or tu holloway.
55 Jae Crowder SF/PF High energy, undersized player.
56 Robert Sacre C Could use another big.
